Jyotira is made for adults.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. This page explains what that means, why we set it there, and exactly what the app does and does not contain.

Minimum age: 18
Jyotira is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register. Our Terms and Conditions state the same requirement, and the app enforces it during sign up.

Personal birth details
To build your chart, Jyotira asks for your date, time, and place of birth. This is personal information, and handling it responsibly is a large part of why the app is for adults.

AI-generated guidance
Readings, insights, and reports are generated by AI from classical Vedic technique. They discuss adult life themes such as work, money, relationships, and difficult periods.

Purchases
Jyotira offers an optional Personalized subscription that renews monthly, and one-time report purchases. Price and terms are shown before any purchase is confirmed.

No advertising
Jyotira contains no third-party advertising and no ad networks. We do not sell your data to advertisers.

No user-to-user contact
There is no chat, no messaging, no comments, and no social feed. Members cannot see or contact one another, so there is no exposure to strangers.

No mature or graphic content
Jyotira contains no violence, no sexual content, no profanity, no gambling or simulated gambling, and no depiction of drugs or alcohol.
How we enforce the age requirement
Jyotira needs your date of birth to calculate your chart, so we already know your age. We use it to hold the line at 18:
- During onboarding, the app asks for your birth date and blocks you from continuing if it puts you under 18.
- Our servers repeat the same check independently, and refuse to create an account for anyone under 18. The check cannot be skipped by bypassing the app.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it and the data associated with it.
Why 18 and not younger
Two reasons. The first is data: a birth chart is built from your date, time, and place of birth, which is sensitive personal information we would rather not collect from minors at all. The second is the nature of the guidance. Jyotira speaks candidly about adult concerns, including money, relationships, career, and periods of real difficulty. That conversation assumes an adult reader who can hold it in perspective.

Jyotira is offered for informational and entertainment purposes. It is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind:
- Not medical or health advice. Jyotira does not diagnose or treat anything. Never delay seeking medical attention because of a reading.
- Not financial advice. Do not make investment or financial decisions based on a reading.
- Not legal advice. Consult a qualified lawyer for legal matters.
- Not therapy. Jyotira is not a mental health service and is not a crisis resource. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
For parents and guardians
If you believe someone under 18 has created a Jyotira account, write to us at support@jyotira.com and we will remove the account and its data. You do not need to prove anything to us first. Both the App Store and Google Play also offer parental controls that can restrict downloads and in-app purchases by age rating, which we would encourage you to use.
