What is Sade Sati?
The roughly seven-and-a-half-year period during which Shani transits the rashi before your natal Moon, the rashi of the Moon itself, and the rashi after it. It moves in three phases of about two and a half years each: Pratham Charan, Dwitiya Charan, and Tritiya Charan.
Is Sade Sati seven and a half years of bad luck?
No. It is a long Shani transit, and Shani works by slowing things down and asking for structure. Classical practice reads the three phases differently, and the third is traditionally read as consolidation. Which phase weighs most depends on the whole chart, not on the name of the period.
Why does the checker ask for my birth time and place?
Because everything here is counted from your natal Moon, and the Moon moves about thirteen degrees per day. When the Moon sits near the edge of a rashi, a small birth-time error changes the Moon sign and with it the whole timeline. If your Moon is near a boundary, the result says so plainly.
Everyone my age has the same sun sign horoscope. Is this the same?
No. Sade Sati is anchored to your natal Moon rashi, which depends on your exact birth date and time, not your birth month. Two people born the same week can be years apart in their Sade Sati timelines.
